Day 1

San José - Arenal Volcano / Silencio Trail / Hot Springs - (D)
Transfer by comfortable shuttle bus from San José to La Fortuna (pick up from other destinations also possible). In the afternoon, pick up at your hotel to explore the Silencio Trail with a local guide and hike through the rainforest at the foot of Arenal Volcano where you have the possibility of spotting monkeys and a large variety of birds, including toucans and trogons. You will end the hike with a refreshing beverage and a magnificent view of Arenal Volcano, where, with a bit of luck, you can see the flowing lava of Costa Rica’s most active volcano. This stunning experience is followed by an evening at the hot springs of Ecotermales, to enjoy a soothing bath of waterfalls and natural pools of various temperatures against the backdrop of fresh nighttime air and a starry sky, all within lush, tropical gardens. Dinner at the Hot Springs. Return to your hotel at approx. 09:30 pm.

Day 2

Tenorio Volcano - Rio Celeste Hike - (BF, Picnic-Lunch,)
Get to know one of the hidden treasures of Costa Rica: the Rio Celeste. Hardly anyone knows this beautiful place at the slopes of Tenorio Volcano, although it belongs to the Tenorio National Park. Rio Celeste, means “the sky-blue river”, and owes its name to the light blue, almost turquoise, somewhat milky color, which results from a chemical reaction in a place where two rivers flow together, which have completely different chemical characteristics and by their reaction the coloring is caused. This place is called the tingeing place and is hidden in the middle of the dense rain forest. Starting from this point the river with its almost surreal color flows through the forest, without losing its coloring at the nearby waterfall. After breakfast, pick up at your hotel and ride to Tenorio National Park, where you will start an adventurous, gorgeous hike through the rainforest together with your English-speaking guide. Situated within the National Park, the Río Celeste winds through a verdant rainforest. In addition to the attractive color of the water, the river also has several thermal hot springs and an impressive waterfall where you will have the opportunity to take a refreshing bath! After a savory picnic lunch you will hike back towards the entrance and drive back to La Fortuna. Arrival in the afternoon around 16:00 pm.

Day 3

Mountain Bike Tour Lake Arenal / El Castillo - (BF, Fruit-Picnic)
Today you will explore the beautiful scenery and lush rainforest around Arenal by mountain bike, an unforgettable adventure! In the morning, pick up at your hotel and short ride by minibus to the dam of Arenal Lake, then begin biking on a quiet country road (gravel road) along the lake’s shore. Enjoy the views of the active volcano and the lake until you reach the village of El Castillo. A picnic lunch will give you the power you need for biking further or if you rather want to refresh: dip into the lake before riding back. Arrival at the hotel in the early afternoon. Rest of the day is at your disposal. The entire cycling tour is about 20 – 26 km on gravel roads featuring a few rocky parts and altitude varies approx. 85 m.

Back to San José - (BF)
Return to San José or your following destination per shuttle bus.
